Last week, we had the exciting opportunity to partner up with adidas Originals for our first-ever live interview with special guest MAVI! Here's a run down of everything that happened.

The day started off with sounds by Tallboy, a photo booth with custom TGS photo strips, and a customization station where attendees could customize a free pair of Superstars. We also had free mini donuts provided by our friends at COPS!

After all attendees had settled in and customized their new Superstars, it was time for the interview. MAVI made his way to the stage for an hour-long conversation about his personal taste in art, fragrance, fashion, and more. He spoke about underrated forms of art in our everyday lives, like the art of hospitality.
He also shared his experience navigating sobriety and committing to taking care of his body through regular workouts. He talked about the nonprofit he's been building to serve young creatives in his hometown of Charlotte, NC. We ended off the conversation by bringing his manager Zay Shimkin to the stage to discuss MAVI dropping his latest music independently via DistroKid + how having a strong team allows them to thrive on their own.

After the interview, MAVI surprised the audience with a performance! He performed some of our favorites off his recent project 'shadowbox' like "too much to zelle" and "i did", alongside a fan favorite "Love, of money" and an exclusive unreleased track. All MAVI fans in the building were on their feet, and the room was filled with love and excitement.

We are still in disbelief that this really happened!! We are so grateful to our community for showing us so much support on this event, and we are also thankful for our friends at adidas Originals, Colorway, and Associated who helped all of the pieces come together. We are extra extra grateful for the mayor himself, our goat, MAVI!! His artistry has inspired us for years, and this was a very full circle moment for the TGS team + the TGS community.
We look forward to having another live interview event soon! <3
