One of the most anticipated releases of the year, WHATMORE's self-titled debut feels like pure creative chaos served in the best way. The way the Rap verses merge into R&B grooves using indie guitars both cut straight through the noise while still feeling organic. It's five artists in a room, trusting chaos over perfection. WHATMORE captures the messy yet wildly ambitious spirit of New York's future wave without chasing a cookie-cutter approach. The chemistry is undeniable, and they use the borders separating genres to build their own playground. That energy peaks on the closer “hit it” (my favorite track), where WHATMORE celebrates everything it took to bring the project to life, laying all of their aspirations out there: “got the world in the palm of my fist.” It’s an easy 10/10.
