Bruiser Wolf uses humor as a trojan horse that both captures the listeners attention and introduces them to his equally witty and virtuosic skillset.
At-first, MADE BY DOPE has quotable lines like, “Fuck that Dinner, ‘Im taking the 500 thousand” and “People love money, they don’t heart broke”, that might incite a chuckle, but each punchline is sandwiched between a message wiser. In a way Wolf represents the ‘Class Clown’ and like all great class clowns the jokes serve as a charming release valve for the stories weighing on Wolf’s consciousness. Wolf says “If you are not vulnerable, how real is it?” when talking about this project on Curtiss King’s podcast; just because this album is funny does not prevent it from being anything else. Similar to his earlier 2025 project, Potluck, this album is sprinkled with plenty of “a-ha” moments while making its own unique case for itself. The primary difference being Harry Fraud’s production keeping the project focused while still maintaining Bruiser Wolf’s complexity.
“My life’s a movie
(My life’s a movie)
BUT will I make it to the big screen?...
Or Tubi?”
I mean, that in itself is just powerful.
